Temuera Morrison Cast as Boba Fett in S2 of THE MANDALORIAN
May 8, 2020The first ‘Mando’ bounty hunter to grace the Star Wars screen is coming to the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian, and Temuera Morrison is set to take on the titular character.
For the first time in almost 40 years, a live-action Fett is returning and Morrison, who previously portrayed the character’s father, Jango Fett, will take on the role.
Fans first caught wind of the character’s appearance in the forthcoming season when he was teased in the secret ending of The Gunslinger episode. Whether it was the helmet, the cape or the Wookie scalps, since the character’s first appearance in the Star Wars Holiday Special, he has captured and delighted audiences from Tatooine to Kashyyyk!
Prior to his eventual appearance on the show, Jeremy Bulloch has previously been the only person to portray a live-action version of the character, with the exception to Daniel Logan, who was his younger self.
Morrison is no stranger to the Star Wars universe, having served as the primary clone in the Star Wars clone-themed prequel trilogy, as well as the recently-concluded, long-running Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, primarily as Captain Rex, who is also rumored to eventually appear on the show as well.
The Morrison news also comes on the heels of Rosario Dawson being cast as Ahsoka Tano for the upcoming second season as well, both long-running characters on The Clone Wars and two fan-favorites.
Season 2 of The Mandalorian is currently slated to return in October, 2020.
