Popcorn Frights Announces Partnership with Shudder on Next Drive-In Event
June 15, 2020 Off By Michael StagnoThe second installment of the Popcorn Frights ‘pop-up’ summer drive-in horrorshow event is en route, this time partnering with premium horror streaming service, Shudder, to bring genre fans both Yummy and The Beach House, as part of the twin-billing.
The upcoming Popcorn Frights Drive-In Horrorshow will serve as a follow-up to the first event, which took place on May 30. It featured two anthology films in Scare Package and The Mortuary Collection. As a reminder, tickets for both films, Yummy and The Beach House are $20 each, per automobile and sold separately. Moviegoers are encouraged to practice ‘social distancing’ in bringing masks and have proper hand-cleaning products at the ready.
First up is Yummy, at 8:30pm (ET), from director Lars Damoiseaux. It follows a young couple, Alison (Maaike Neuville) and Michael (Bart Hollanders), which travels to Eastern Europe to have plastic surgery, but come face-to-face with a zombie outbreak. It also stars, Benjamin Ramon, Clara Cleymans, Annick Christiaens, Eric Godon and Joshua Rubin.
At 10:45 is the Jeffrey A. Brown-directed, The Beach House, a film centering on two college sweethearts, on a romantic getaway, who find themselves in a fight for survival against to unexpected house guests, who seem to be suffering from an infection by something mysterious found in the water. The film stars: Liana Liberato, Noah Le Gros, Jake Weber and Maryanne Nagel.

The second Popcorn Frights Drive-In Horrorshow will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2020, once again at the Mass District, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and the sixth annual Popcorn Frights Film Fest, which was rescheduled, is currently slated for Oct. 1-4.
