Hilary Swank Adjusts to Life in Space, Apart From Family, in First AWAY Teaser
July 14, 2020Astronauts are primed to set course for Mars in the first teaser trailer for Away, an upcoming Netflix original series, from creators Jessica Goldberg and Andrew Hinderaker.
The series centers on Emma Green (Hilary Swank), an American astronaut who sets out with her crew for a year-long mission to Mars, leaving her husband and daughter behind. The mission, a treacherous one, has the potential to be a one-way trip, though if successful, is a project with a three-year turnaround.
The crew, itself, features astronauts from the United States, Russia, China, India and the United Kingdom. Over the span of the trip, relationships on both the spacecraft, as well as back home on Earth, will be tested. Though the mission is still the same, pursue humanity’s most-important goal of establishing life on another seemingly habitable planet.
Joining Swank, as part of the crew, are series regulars: Talitha Eliana Bateman, Josh Charles, Ato Essandoh, Adam Irigoyen, Mark Ivanir, Ray Panthaki, Vivian Wu and Monique Gabriela Curnen.
The 10-episode pilot season of Away is currently scheduled to launch, globally, on Netflix on Sept. 4, 2020.
