Filmmaker and writer, Derek Kolstad, has set his next project at Netflix in an animated version of the popular Ubisoft IP, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell.

The anime series, which is rumored to have already garnered a two-season order and at least 16 episodes, will be based on the best-selling Splinter Cell novels by author Tom Clancy, which were later adapted as a fan-favorite video game franchise. It centers on Sam Fisher, a U.S. Navy SEAL, who is recruited by the NSA to embark on numerous black ops missions.

Kolstad is best-known for having spearheaded the John Wick trilogy, with the fourth installment currently in pre-production. He is set to produce the upcoming Wick spinoff, The Continental, while also writing another video game adaptation in Hitman, all while serving as a staff writer for the forthcoming The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series at Disney+.
