NECA Announces Martin Brody and Sam Quint JAWS Action Figures
March 21, 2020For the first time in the 45-year history of JAWS, toy company, NECA, has launched screen-accurate and officially licensed action figures for two of the film’s titular characters.
That’s right, two eight-inch, fully-clothed figures of Robert Shaw, as Sam Quint, the seasoned shark hunter, and as the town’s mocked police chief, Roy Scheider (Martin Brody), are finally getting the plastic toy treatment, with multiple points of articulation!
Fans of the 1975 Steven Spielberg classic can now bring home these figures, the spitting images of both Scheider and Shaw, in their on-screen personas, including nostalgic accessories that encourage all the feels.
The Chief Brody action figure comes packaged with his police-issued pistol, binoculars, CB radio (so Quint can smash it), a chum bucket and his signature air pressure tank, which he uses to coin his signature phrase, “Smile, you son of a b*itch!”.
The Sam Quint action figure has accessories worthy of a zombie apocalypse or, you know, killing a 25-foot man-eating great white shark, including a rifle, harpoon gun, machete and a bat (so he can smash Brody’s CB radio).
We know what you’re thinking, where’s the shark? Well, at the tail end of the year, “you’re going to need a bigger boat!”, because an in-scale companion is coming, which will link the set. However, this begs the question, where is the Dr. Matthew Hooper action figure, played by Richard Dreyfuss? After all, he’s one of the surviving protagonists!
Expect the Quint and Brody action figures to hit selves in September 2020.
