August 27, 2019 Off By Michael Stagno

The Eddie Murphy is set to host Saturday Night Live for the first time in 35 years, making his triumphant return on December 21, 2019.

Murphy returned for the skit comedy show’s 40th anniversary in 2015, but he last hosted SNL in 1984. He hasn’t turned in a standup in decades, but after a recent appearance on Jerry Seinfeld‘s Netflix seres, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, he is in negotiations with the streaming service about a possible comedy special that could pay him north of $70 million.

Murphy has quite a few exciting projects in the works for the big screen, including Beverly Hills Cop 4 and Coming 2 America, a sequel.
