A straight-to-series order is coming to EPIX in adapting Stephen King‘s short story, Jerusalem’s Lot, which will star Adrien Brody.

The series, based on the novel, is set in the 1850s. It follows Captain Charles Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in Preacher’s Corners, Maine, after his wife dies. He will soon confront the secrets of his family and fight the darkness that plagues it.

“This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror,” said EPIX President Michael Wright. “We can’t wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody … and, of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn’t get any better or, more masterful, than Stephen King.”

The novel was first adapted as a two-part television series in 1979 with Salem’s Lot and saw a feature film sequel in 1987, A Return to Salem’s Lot. In 2004, the original was rebooted as a two-parter, Salem’s Lot, and starred Rob Lowe.

Brody has been busy with four projects dropping in 2020: Emperor, The French Dispatch, Blonde and El Tonto.

The 10-episode pilot season of Jerusalem’s Lot will begin production in May, 2020, while it currently has eyes for a premiere in fall.
