Nicolas Cage Cast as Joe Exotic in Upcoming Scripted TIGER KING Series

In a new milestone in his career, Nicolas Cage, for the first time, will take his talents to a scripted television series, playing Joe Schreibvogel, aka Joe Exotic, in the adaptation of Tiger King.

The Netflix docuseries, which the upcoming scripted series will be based on, centers on a rivalry among big cat and exotic animals park operators, which ultimately results in a murder-for-hire-plot and the imprisonment of one of the owners.

The upcoming eight-episode scripted show will be helmed by CBS Television Studios. The series is expected to follow Exotic and explore how he became who he is and how he lost himself in his created persona.

Cage had a competitive 2019 with roles in films like, Primal, A Score to Settle, Kill Chain and Running with the Devil. His 2020-21 is currently lined up to see roles in, Pig, Jiu Jitsu, Prisoners of Ghostland, 10 Double Zero and Wally’s Wonderland.
