The same Archie Comics creative team that dropped Archie: 1941, Mark Waid, Brian Augustyn and Tom Grummett, is jumping ahead 14 years and doing it all again, with Archie: 1955.

The five-issue limited series will imagine what Archie Andrew’s life would be like if he was a real teen in the 1950s as he seeks to find success in the upcoming rock scene. When a local DJ sees he’s got the talent, Andrews will ascend to fame, but will also have to endure tragedy as the successes role in.

“As a boy who grew up in Tupelo, Miss., I’ve been a rock-origins aficionado my entire life,” Waid said. “Archie: 1955 is my chance to visit that era I so love, and do it with an Archie spin. As with Archie: 1941, we’re very true to the time while telling a story in a modern way that’s exciting and dramatic.”
