Creators Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Paco Diaz are adapting one of Ubisoft‘s most-popular IPs in comic book form at IDW Publishing in, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breaking Point: Blind Prophets.

The upcoming five-issue miniseries will serve as a never-before-seen chapter of the Ghost Recon saga, pinning the elite special operations team against a mysterious Sudanese warlord, who has ties to its own squad. The series will bridge the gap between Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands and to the current game, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breaking Point. The series will center on Col. Cole D. Walker and ‘Nomad’ to question everything they thought they knew about their Ghosts unit.

“For me, writing a series like Ghost Recon is the best of both worlds: as a gamer, I get to add to the lore of a beloved Ubisoft game series inspired by the Tom Clancy brand, one that means a lot to millions of gamers around the world,” said Johnson. “But more importantly, as an active duty soldier, I have the opportunity to tell an original story that honors the service and sacrifice of my real-life fellow soldiers who are doing the hard work all around the world.”

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint: Blind Prophets #1 (of 5) goes on sale in January of 2020.
