Core Characters for Upcoming STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC Revealed

April 2, 2020 Off By Michael Stagno

The upcoming series, Star Wars: The High Republic, previously referred to as ‘Project Luminous’, from writers Cavan Scott and Charles Soule, along with a laundry list of fan-favorite artists, has revealed its main ensemble cast of characters.

The series will take place 200 years prior to the events of the film, Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, at a time when both the Galactic Republic and Jedi Order are at its most-prominent zenith.

“This was a golden age for the Jedi, and also a time of galactic expansion in the Outer Rim. So expect there to be rich tales of exploration; charting out the galaxy, meeting new cultures and discovering what pioneer life in the Outer Rim was like,” said James Waugh. “This is an incredible sandbox for our storytellers to play in, both within publishing and beyond, and we can’t wait to see the great fiction they build within it.”

All that said, let’s meet the Jedi knights and masters of The High Republic, stationed at Starlight Beacon! First up, Avar Kriss, who is a bright, influential and most-noble Jedi. She always tries to see the good in people and situations. Next is, Loden Greatstorm, a Twi’lek Jedi master and one of the best teachers in the order. He is always trying to better himself and his Padawans. Keeve Trennis is a young Jedi, believed to have a great future. Though unsure in her abilities, she is determined to prove herself. Then there’s Stellan Gios, another master. He came up through the order with Kriss. He is strong in the Force and a natural teacher and leader. He is stationed on the distant planet of Caragon-Viner. Lastly, there’s Vernestra Rwoh, or ‘Vern’, a newly-appointed Mirialan Jedi. She is just 16-years-old and served as Padawan to Gios.

Star Wars: The High Republic #1 is currently slated to release in August of 2020.
