July 26, 2019 Off By Michael Stagno

The lesbian-viking adventure tale, Heathen, has found its playcaller in Catherine Hardwicke, who will adapt the Vault Comics series as a film.

The story centers on Aydis, a lesbian warrior, born into a time of war and suffering, but one that sees the constant objectification of women. She sets out on a mission to end the oppression at the source, the god-king Odin.

Hardwicke (Lords of Dogtown, Twilight) will guide the Kerry Williamson-written script as both the director and executive producer, based on the Vault Comics series, which was created by Natasha Alterici, for both Constantin Film and Prime Universe Films.

The graphic novel was selected by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) to the 2018 ‘Great Graphic Novels for Teens’ list.

No news yet on a cast, release date or as to what kind of platform it will launch on, but the film is currently in pre-production.
