The Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol, is getting yet another reimagining, this time via funny guys, Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds.

The story centers on a bitter old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, who hates the holidays and takes it out on his employees. He has a change of heart, however, when, on Christmas Eve, he’s visited by three spirits, Past, Present and Future, who help him learn compassion.

The book has been adapted numerous times for film and television, most-recently, a Robert Zemeckis offering, in 2009, which starred Jim Carrey.

The upcoming Ferrell/Reynolds installment, which is currently being shopped, has yet to announce production dates, but will be directed and written by Sean Anders and John Morris, both of whom worked on Daddy’s Home and Daddy’s Home 2.

Reynolds is currently waiting to see what will become of his announced Deadpool 3 and X-Force films, which are currently in limbo, but did most-recently complete the follow-up to The Hitman’s Bodyguard in The Hitman’s Bodyguard’s Wife. Ferrell is set to star in Eurovision.
