Filmmaker Ridley Scott has enlisted the talents of Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jodie Comer and Adam Driver for his next film, a real-life thriller, The Last Duel, which is set in France.

Both Damon and Affleck co-wrote the script, while Scott will helm it. The film is based on Eric Jager‘s book, The Last Duel: A True Story of Crime, Scandal and Trial by Combat in Medieval France. It recounts the real-life revenge story of the last legally-sanctioned trial by combat in France. It follows a man who goes to war and returns to discover a friend has raped his wife (Comer). When no one will believe the woman, the soldier appeals to the king, requesting a a duel to the death.

Comer will again star as Villanelle in the breakout series, Killing Eve, in 2020, and Affleck has two films on tap for next year, The Last Thing He Wanted and The Way Back. Damon is currently filming the drama, Stillwater, while Driver, who you can see as Kylo Ren in December in the ninth installment of the Star Wars franchise, will see Marriage Story drop on Netflix this winter and is currently filming Annette.

Scott has a laundry list of directorial and producing duties coming up, including a still untitled Alien prequel, Gladiator 2 and Empire of the Summer Moon.
