The Amell Cousins Release Official Trailer for Sci-Fi Thriller, CODE 8
October 26, 2019The Crowdfunded Stephen Amell and Robbie Amell film, Code 8, via director Jeff Chan, has released its first official action-packed trailer, which pins a small percentage of powered people against the rest of the world.
The film is set in Lincoln City, in a world where 4-percent of the population is born with varying supernatural abilities. Instead of being rich or serving as superheroes, people with powers are faced with discrimination and live in poverty, resulting in some of them to resort to crime.
The story follows Connor Reed (R. Amell), a power-enabled young man, who is struggling to pay for his ailing mother’s treatment, played by Kari Matchett. He is lured into a lucrative world of crime by friend, Garrett (S. Amell), who works for the city’s drug lord, Marcus Sutcliffe (Greg Bryk). Thus, Garrett helps Connor sharpen his powers in order to execute a series of crimes, on behalf of Sutcliffe, while a militarized police unit, spearheaded by Agent Park (Sung Kang), seeks to stop them.
The film also stars Laysla de Oliveira, Aaron Abrams, Peter Outerbridge, Alex Mallari Jr. and Simon Northwood.
Code 8 hits theaters and video-on-demand on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019.
