Marvel Studios Announces Peyton Reed is Signed for Another ANT-MAN Sequel
November 2, 2019Filmmaker Peyton Reed is returning to helm the third film in the Ant-Man franchise, thus completing the trifecta, per an announcement by Marvel Studios.
Reed, who directed both 2015’s Ant-Man and 2018’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, has signed on for a second sequel, in continuing the story for both Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), and Hope Van Dyne, aka Wasp (Evangeline Lilly).
The third film could make a return to the Quantum Realm in (finally and presumably) introducing mutants, thus the X-Men, to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The first two Ant-Man films have grossed over $519 million and over $622 million, respectively.
No other details have been confirmed, while the film is currently slated in the MCU Phase 4 timeline for a 2022 release in theaters, following both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder.
