Yet another indie graphic novel is set to be adapted by Seth Rogen, in conjunction with partners Evan Goldberg and James Weaver under their Point Grey umbrella, along with Lionsgate, comes a horror film about a weaponized meme in, Memetic.

The film will be based on the original graphic novel, Memetic, from creators James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan. The series centers on the Good Time Sloth meme, which becomes a viral sensation. Nearly 12 hours after watching it, however, the viewer is succumbed to a murderous rage. The progression of it leads to an annihilation of the human race, within 72 hours. Some prove immunity to the meme, including the main protagonist, who is color blind, as they try to navigate a post-apocalyptic world in search of others that may have survived.

The news comes on the heels of the announcement of Rogen adapting Fear Agent as an Amazon series. This latest project continues a trend in Rogen and Co. scooping up and adapting indie graphic novels, having already done so for Preacher, Future Man and, with the upcoming second season, The Boys, which premieres in mid-2020.
