Out With the Old: THE NEW MUTANTS Come into Their Powers in Official Trailer
January 6, 2020What was once thought to be a dead film has now become one of the more-anticipated upcoming films as the young group of The New Mutants are back, this time under the Marvel Studios umbrella.
The upcoming film will serve as an original horror thriller, set in an isolated hospital, where a group of young mutants are being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new abilities and their friendships will be tested, as they battle to try and make it out alive.
The main cast includes: Anya Taylor-Joy (Illyana Rasputin, aka Magik), Maisie Williams (Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane), Charlie Heaton (Sam Guthrie/Cannonball), Blu Hunt (Danielle Moonstar/Mirage or Moonstar) and Henry Zaga (Roberto da Costa/Sunspot). The film also stars Alice Braga and Antonio Banderas.
After a grueling reshoot period, one that took nearly a year, the film looks primed to release this spring. It had been reported that the purpose of the delay was to introduce a CGI character to the fold, possibly Warlock or Magma. Though, it has also been rumored it could be a non-generated character as well. That could include any of the following: Boom-Boom, Karma, Cypher or Surge. So, we’ll have to wait and see!
The New Mutants releases in theaters on April 3, 2020.
