Ryan Gosling Tabbed to Star in Andy Weir-Scripted, PROJECT HAIL MARY

The upcoming science fiction live-action adaptation of Project Hail Mary, from writer Andy Weir, has selected its lead in Ryan Gosling.

That’s right, Gosling is returning to space for the first time since 2018 when he played Neil Armstrong in the true-story adaptation of First Man. In the upcoming, Project Hail Mary, he will serve as an astronaut on a spaceship, whose crew is tasked with saving the planet.

Weir writes space and science fiction-centric novels. He is best-known for having written The Martian (adapted as a live-action film in 2015) and his most-recent novel about a lunar city, Artemis, is also in pre-production.
