Spyglass Selects Director and Scribes for Upcoming HELLRAISER Reboot

The creative team of the upcoming Hellraiser reboot has been set in director David Bruckner, screenplay scribes, Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski and David Goyer, who will write the story.

The upcoming film will serve as a reimagining of 1987’s Hellraiser from Clive Barker, which is based on his series of novels, The Hellbound Heart. The film tells the tale of Cenobites, mutilated beings which exist to torture those capable of accessing the puzzle box, which summons them, led by Pinhead, from Hell.

The popularity of the franchise has propelled it to cult status, by way of comics, merchandise, action figures, posters and 10 sequels!

Also included in the original franchise are, Hellbound: Hellraiser 2 (1988), Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992), Hellraiser IV: Bloodline (1996), Hellraiser: Inferno (2000), Hellraiser: Hellseeker (2002), Hellraiser: Deader (2005), Hellraiser: Hellworld (2005), Hellraiser: Revelations (2011) and Hellraiser: Judgement (2018).

Bruckner propelled himself to horror relevancy with cult projects like, Southbound (2015) and The Ritual (2017). He most-recently directed The Night House, which is due out in October of 2020.

Goyer is best-known for having written films like, Dark City (1998) and The Dark Knight (2008) is currently working on Masters of the Universe film and the live-action adaptation of The Sandman series, both are due out in 2021.
