K.J. Apa and Sofia Carson Tabbed to Lead Cast of Michael Bay’s SONGBIRD
July 13, 2020The upcoming Michael Bay pandemic thriller, Songbird, has found its two leads in both K.J. Apa and Sofia Carson, as filming is already underway.
The two stars join an ensemble cast already in place, comprised of Demi Moore, Craig Robinson, Paul Walter Hauser and Peter Stormare. The story takes place two years after a pandemic lockdown and centers on a motorbike courier, Nico (Apa), who has a rare immunity to the virus, and Sara (Carson), a young artist. The two navigate a world encompassed by martial law, including vigilantes and powerful mega-organizations, including Piper Griffin (Moore), a matriarch, who will go to great lengths to do what she thinks is right to protect her family.
Apa, who stars as the titular character of Archie Andrews on Riverdale, appeared in both The Last Summer and Altar Rock in 2019, while his film, I Still Believe, is available now, digitally.
Carson, known for her role as Evie in the Descendants franchise, is also set to star in the forthcoming, Feel the Beat, a Netflix family comedy about a performance ensemble with hopes of making it on Broadway.
