Disney+ Set to Roll Out STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS Spinoff, THE BAD BATCH

The widely-popular Star Wars: The Clone Wars may have come to an end, but a new spinoff, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, is en route and will keep the story going, thanks in part to Star Wars animation guru, Dave Filoni.

That’s right, LucasFilm and Disney+ aren’t done in continuing the story post-The Clone Wars. The Bad Batch follows a unique (and experimental) squad of clones, which all differ genetically from their fellow soldiers of the clone army. Each member of the team possesses their own trait or skill, which renders them extraordinary. Following the aftermath of the war, the ragtag team of clones set out into the galaxy to find their purpose

The series will see Filoni spearhead executive producing duties, along with his team of Star Wars animation stalwarts, Athena Portillo, Jennifer Corbett, who will be lead scribe, Brad Rau, Josh Grimes and Carrie Beck.

“Giving new and existing fans the final chapter of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been our honor at Disney+, and we are overjoyed by the global response to this landmark series,” said Senior VP of Content Agnes Chu. “While The Clone Wars may have come to its conclusion, our partnership with the groundbreaking storytellers and artists at LucasFilm Animation is only beginning. We are thrilled to bring Dave Filoni’s vision to life through the next adventures of The Bad Batch.”

Star Wars: The Bad Batch is currently presumed to debut at some point in 2021, exclusively on Disney+.
