Another key role has been cast in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Cowboy Bebop series, which is bound for Netflix, in Elena Satine.

Satine will take on the role of Julia, a singer with a ‘voice to die for’ and the center of attraction for main character Spike Spiegel, played by John Cho. In fact, she initially was with Vicious (Alex Hassell), before having an affair with Spiegel, while all three were members of the Red Dragon syndicate.

The series is a space western, set in 2071, which follows Spiegel and his crew of cowboy bounty hunters, as they try to capture the galaxy’s worst criminals and survive the unexpected dangers that they encounter along the way. In the process, causing more damage than they make.

The show is currently still seeking to complete the gang before production can begin, but also includes stars, Daniella Pineda (Faye Valentine) and, as Jet Black, Mustafa Shakir.

Cowboy Bebop saw a 26-episode in 1998-99, before becoming a feature animated film in 2001, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie.

The 10-episode pilot season on Netflix is currently in pre-production. Stay tuned for more casting news and also for a release date!
