Move Over, ‘Florida Man’, ON BECOMING A GOD IN CENTRAL FLORIDA, is About a Woman

An upcoming series, On Becoming a God in Central Florida, on Showtime will tell the story of Krystal Stubbs, played by Kirsten Dunst, tells the story of conning a multi-billion dollar company.

The dark comedy takes place in 1992, staged in Central Florida, and centers on Stubbs, who works for minimum wage at a water park, cons her way up the ranks of a pyramid scheme in a ‘cultish’ organization called, Founders American Merchandise (FAM). As she dives deeper into the company, she begins to dig a hole even deeper for her family and friends.

The series also stars regulars, Théodore Pellerin, Mel Rodriguez, Beth Ditto and Ted Levine.

On Becoming a God in Central Florida premieres at 10/9c on Sunday, Aug. 25, via Showtime.
