Eric Kripke Confirms Addition of Stormfront for Season 2 of THE BOYS

Show creator Eric Kripke has indeed revealed a new ‘Supe’ will be added to the lineup for Season 2 of The Boys in Stormfront.

Kripke, Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen continue to churn out awesome awesome comics-adapted television, following the success of AMC’s Preacher and, to now, with The Boys. Rogen will also voice a character in the upcoming animated series adaptation of the Image/Skybound series, Invincible.

So, proceeding the events that took place in the first season, The Seven is down a member, having lost Translucent to a butt bomb. No news yet as to whether Stormfront will join the squad or stay true to the graphic novel and serve as a member on the Payback team.

For those not familiar with the character, Stormfront, is a former Hitler youth, bigot and one of the most-powerful superheroes on the planet. He also shares a name with the largest white supremacist group on the Internet.

It was reported by Deadline, back in July, that the series was going to steer away from making the character a male, while eyeing Aya Cash for the role, but nothing has yet to be announced.

“Our version of Stormfront kind of evolves over the season,” said Kripke. “He’s pretty straight-up just like a full-on Nazi. And it’s hard to do reveals with a guy like that. But where the idea emerged and, without spoiling too much, what I’ll say is, under the writer room mantra of ‘bad for the world, good for the show’, we’re all news junkies, and we tend to pay attention to things that are happening out there in the world, and how do we use our superheroes as a metaphor for that? And so, as I would say, it’s not the version in the book, but I would say they have the same rotten soul.”

Season 2 of The Boys is currently filming and set for a 2020 release on Prime Video.
