A new partnership between Ubisoft and Netflix will see a young adult animated series adapted out of the Blood Dragon expansion for Far Cry 3.

The series, which will be based on the VHS-styled science fiction of the 1980s, will be called Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Vibe, as it will be part of a bigger multiverse, in conjunction with other Ubisoft IPs. The series will be spearheaded by current Castlevania producer, Adi Shankar.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon takes place in a nuclear war-ravaged future, which began in the 1990s, but culminated in … 2007. It centers on Sgt. Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando. As humanity continues to struggle over a disastrous decade, the conflict between the East and West continues to wage on. The mission, gather information and figure out how to guide your cyborg army to a path of peace.

There’s no news yet on when production begins, let alone a cast, but stay tuned to Galaxtic Pop for updates as they come in!
