The famous children’s puppet series, Sesame Street, is moving to the upcoming streaming service, HBO Max, for at least the next five seasons.

Per the deal, the entire 50-year library will also migrate to the streaming service, launching with the all-new 51st season. The five seasons will all include 35-episodes, including annual specials like, The Monster at the End of This Show, The Monster at the End of This Book and The Not Too Late Show with Elmo, as well as a spinoff, The Furchester Hotel.

Sesame Street is, and always has been, the gold standard for children’s programming, and we’re thrilled that Sesame Workshop chose HBO Max as its new partner,” said WarnerMedia Chairman Robert Greenblatt. “This brand is synonymous with quality and integrity, not to mention that nothing is more important than educating young new minds. This landmark deal perfectly illustrates the type of quality programming HBO Max will offer across every demographic.”

The show, which takes place in a special inner-city street, the inhabitants, humans and puppets, teach preschool children with comedy, cartoons, games and songs.

The upcoming 51st season of Sesame Street will launch in conjunction with that of HBO Max, in 2020.
