Social Media Gets Scary in First Trailer for Upcoming Amazon Series, THE FEED
October 21, 2019 Off By Michael StagnoThe upcoming Amazon Prime Video series, The Feed, based on Nick Clark Windo‘s 2018 novel, has released its first trailer and takes social sharing to a whole other (creepy) level.
In Windo’s The Feed, which is set in England, takes place at a point when high-tech implants connect our minds to what’s known as, The Feed. It is an amalgam of all currently-available social media platforms, implanted in people’s brains and run under an exclusive, singular network. Every interaction, emotion and memory is shared, instantly, across the network.
When the network falls into the wrong hands, courtesy of those with the ability to ‘spray’ (telepathic communication), the network crashes and people forget how to sustain society as everything from agriculture and medicine begins to fall apart. Plus, people can now be hacked and used against their wills, all parameters that are essentially leading to an eventual post-apocalyptic society.
The series stars regulars, Guy Burnet, Michelle Fairley, David Thewlis, Jing Lusi, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah, Nina Toussaint-White, Osy Ikhile, Simran Kaur, Jeremy Neumark Jones and Chris Reilly.
The 10-episode pilot season of The Feed launches on Prime Video on Nov. 22, 2019.
