Netflix Drops Trailer, Set Pics and Launch Date for Italian Series, SUMMERTIME

March 11, 2020 Off By Michael Stagno

Love is in the air and nothing screams romance more than a beautiful Italian coastline as a backdrop, which is apparent in the first trailer for the upcoming Netflix series, Summertime.

The eight-episode pilot season serves as a modern love story during the days of summer on Italy’s Adriatic Coast. It centers on the attraction between Alessandro (Ludovico Tersigni) and Summer (Rebecca Coco Edogamhe), who come from very different worlds. He is an ex-moto champion and is determined to take back the reins of his life, while she dreams of flying far away in refusing to conform, despite being the glue that holds her family together. Their love will blossom over the course of the holiday and will take them far from who they were before they met each other.

The series is inspired by the Italian novel, Tre Metri Sopra Il Cielo or Three Meters Above the Sky, from writer Federico Moccia.

From directors Lorenzo Sportiello and Francesco Lagi, the rest of the core cast also includes: Andrea Lattanzi, Amanda Campana, Giovanni Maini and Alicia Ann Edogamhe.

Summertime will debut globally on the streaming platform on April 29, 2020.
