The younger sister of the famed Sherlock Holmes takes center stage in the upcoming Netflix film, via Legendary Entertainment, Enola Holmes.

The film will be based on the titular character of Enola from the six-part novel series by author Nancy Springer. It tells the story of the rebellious teenage sister of Sherlock and Mycroft. When her mother mysteriously vanishes on her 16th birthday, Enola sets out, with the help of her famous crime-fighting brothers. Since the brothers are more preoccupied with shipping her off to finishing school, she runs away to London to find her mother. She soon finds herself caught in the middle of a conspiracy that could alter the course of political history.

Harry Bradbeer will serve as director, while Jack Thorne is writing the script. The film stars Millie Bobby Brown, as Enola Holmes, Henry Cavill (Sherlock Holmes) and Sam Claflin (Mycroft Holmes), along with Adeel Akhtar, Fiona Shaw, Frances de la Tour, Burn Gorman, Susan Wokoma and Helena Bonham Carter, as Mrs. Holmes.

Enola Holmes is currently expected to debut globally on Netflix in late 2020.
