Roughly three years since the release of Justice League in theaters, the viral social media movement finally paid off, as fans will be able to now stream the director’s cut of the film, from director Zack Snyder, at HBO Max.

That’s right, years after the stars of the movie launched a social media initiative using the hashtag, #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, fans are finally getting what they have been clamoring for, the filmmaker’s director’s cut! He even took to Twitter to make it official, unveiling the partnership with the forthcoming WarnerMedia streaming service.

“I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized,” said Snyder. “Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement, for making this a reality.”

Justice League, which dropped in 2017, garnered $658 million at the global box office, but was not well-received by critics and diehard DC Comics fans.

While the streaming service is set to launch this spring, it has yet to announce a specific premiere date for Snyder’s version of Justice League. However, fans can expect to see it at some point in 2021.
