DC Comics Partners with Spotify to Deliver Exclusive Scripted Podcasts
June 19, 2020Remember the old Superman radio shows of yesteryear, full of over-the-top voice acting and sound effects? Well, have no fear, ’cause Spotify is here and a new partnership with DC Comics will bring a whole wave of new stories, per exclusive scripted podcasts on the platform.
The new multiyear deal will see multiple original, scripted-podcasts come from your device, to your ears, featuring some of the most-beloved DC Universe characters and teams. Each of the shows will not be connected to any of the existing comics, shows or films, rather, each will serve as standalone tales. These are going to be new and original storylines, not connected to any existing comics or TV shows.
The action isn’t relegated to just superheroes, as WarnerMedia will also see some of its other properties, like Supernatural and even Looney Tunes be adapted as podcasts as well.
