Netflix Reveals Voice Cast for Upcoming Animated Horror-Comedy, DEADENDIA
July 6, 2020 Off By Michael StagnoThe voice cast for Hamish Steele‘s adaptation of DeadEndia has been announced as the series preps to launch, exclusively at Netflix, in conjunction with london’s Blink Industries.
The show will be based on the series of original graphic novels by Steele, DeadEndia. It will center on the adventures of Barney, Norma and Pugsley, as they balance their lives working summer jobs at a local theme park haunted house, while also taking on supernatural forces that lurk inside. Together, along with Courtney, their underworld multiplane demon guide, they will battle in demonic gameshows, sleep-sucking witches and zombie mascots, but also their first romantic crushes as well.
“DeadEndia is about terrifying demons, vengeful ghosts and mysterious magic. It is also about coming-of-age in a world that wasn’t made for you. It’s a drama about found family, identity and making mistakes and, of course, it’s a laugh-out-loud comedy,” said Steele. “I’ve always dreamed of making the show I needed as a lonely, horror-obsessed closeted gay kid and, thanks to Netflix and our ridiculously-talented, diverse and representative writers room and crew, we have shot way past my dreams and into wildest fantasy territory!”
The series will feature Zach Barack, as Barney, a transgender teenager, Kody Kavitha as the neurodiverse Norma, Emily Osment (Courtney), Alex Brightman, as Pugsley, the magical talking dog, Clinton Leupp (Pauline Phoenix), Kenny Tran (Logs) and, as Badyah, Kathreen Khavari.
DeadEndia is currently expected to arrive on Netflix in 2021.
