Peacock Drops MACGRUBER Teaser in Unveiling New Series at Streaming Service
August 12, 2020It’s been a decade since MacGruber last appeared on the screen, but thanks in part to NBCUniversal‘s streaming service, Peacock, a series is coming, as Will Forte will both star in and executive produce the project.
MacGruber, which originally served as a series of skits on SNL in mocking the 1985 MacGyver show, arrived on the silver screen in 2010 with MacGruber. The film followed him and his two-person team, his sidekick, Vicki (Kristen Wiig) and Piper (Ryan Phillippe), as they sought to take down Dieter von Cunth, played by Val Kilmer, who is in possession of a nuclear warhead.
No news yet as to whether past skit guests or movie characters will reprise roles on the show, but stay tuned for more information!
MacGruber: The Series is currently scheduled to launch in 2021, exclusively on Peacock.
