ATLANTA Renewed, to Shoot Both Seasons 3 and 4 in 2020

We still won’t be getting new episodes of Atlanta any time soon, but not only has a fourth season been optioned by FX Networks, but the wait time between Seasons 3 and 4 has gotten even smaller.

That’s right, Donald Glover, Bryan Tyree Henry, LaKeith Stanfield and Zazie Beetz will all be back sooner, rather than later and more often, with a Season 4 renewal, ahead of the Season 3 premiere in 2020.

If you aren’t familiar with the show, it’s based in Atlanta. Earnest ‘Earn’ Marks (Glover) and his cousin, Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles (Henry), along with friend, Darius (Stanfield), try to make their way up the rap scene. As they go, the trio come up against situations of social injustice, economic hardship and plenty of race, relationship and political issues.

The series has turned in a laundry list of accolades, including having won five Emmys, two AFIs and Golden Globes, respectively, and a Critic’s Choice, among others.

The cast has been busy though. Glover voiced Simba in the recently-released live-action reboot of The Lion King, Henry secured the role of Phastos in the upcoming Marvel Studios film, The Eternals, while Stanfield has six upcoming projects, including one as Det. Troy Archer in Knives Out, and Beetz will star in Joker in October.
