Get Ready to Take a Bite Out of Renewed Season 2 of WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS
August 16, 2019The FX series, What We Do in the Shadows has it all, like Vampires, Werewolves and even semen-stealing Witches! Now, fresh off the announcement, we’re getting a second season.
The series, which was created by Jemaine Clement, is based on the 2014 film, What We Do in the Shadows, written and directed by Taika Waititi. It is a mocumentary about the lives of four vampires, that have been together for over 100 years, and their human familiar. The series continues the story, delving deeper into their lives on a daily (rather a nightly) basis.
Let’s meet the family. The head of the household is Nandor the Relentless, played by Kayvan Novak, once the leader of a nation with 27 wives, he now finds himself slumming it with the rest of the gang in Staten Island, NYC.
Next up is Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), Nandor’s familiar. He handles the house’s dirty deeds, like disposing of bodies and decorating.
If you hear someone shouting, “Bat!”, then that is just Matt Berry, aka Lazlo, a savant of topiary sculpting and devoted husband to Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), who is fierce, funny, smart and seductive. She delivers the pain as she does the laughs.
Finally, there is Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch). Unlike his housemates, he isn’t a traditional vampire. He is an ‘energy’ vampire, you may indeed be in the presence of an energy vampire and don’t even know it!
Waititi, who wrote and directed the smash Marvel film, Thor: Ragnarok, recently announced at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, that he will be returning to helm ‘The God of Thunder’ in Thor: Love and Thunder.
