Stephen Amell Will Enter the Ring in Starz Wrestling Drama, HEELS

The Stephen Amell is hanging up the hood for wrestling boots. As he continues to complete Season 8 of Arrow, the final season, he has signed on to join the cast of Heels, a new wrestling drama series, on Starz.

The inaugural season has been ordered for an eight-episode pilot run and will tell the story of the outrageous and outlandish world of independent professional wrestling and the men and women that compete in chasing their dreams. The series will follow two brothers, one face and one heel, and their family-owned wrestling promotion organization, Duffy Wrestling Association, as they rival each over the legacy of their late father.

Amell will take on the role of heel as Jack Spade, who works hard in- and out of the ring. He fights and works to make ends meet, while trying to realize his dream and in providing for his family.

The series is produced by Lionsgate, in conjunction with Paramount, and will be spearheaded by showrunner Mike O’Malley.

The show has yet to begin pre-production, but is expected to release at some point in 2020. Keep an eye out for more casting news as the year goes.
