Showtime Lands Rights to Upcoming Space Workplace Comedy, MOONBASE 8

A new comedy series, Moonbase 8, starring Fred Armisen, John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker, has found a home in being scooped up by Showtime, in conjunction with A24.

The series, from Portlandia co-creators Armisen and Jonathan Krisel, centers on three astronauts, Cap (Reilly), Skip (Armisen) and Rook (Heidecker), all seeking to be selected for a lunar mission, while navigating the NASA Moon Base Simulator in Arizona. As the three men progress in their rigorous training, each of them begin to experience unexpected situations in which they begin to question their own respective mental well-being.

The six-episode pilot season of Moonbase 8 is currently expected to debut this fall, exclusively on Showtime.
