The ‘Tease From Tennessee’ Takes Her Talents to Hollywood in, BETTIE PAGE

March 13, 2020 Off By Michael Stagno

Writer Karla Pacheco and artist Vincenzo Federici is bringing back Bettie Page at Dynamite Entertainment and, in an alternate history twist, implanting her as a Tinseltown superstar, but also a suspect to a murder!

The upcoming series will find Bettie having moved from New York City to Hollywood in 1954. She’s transitioned into a B-Movie starlet. While navigating the many producers, perps, pumps and pushers in ‘La La Land’, she begins to wonder whether trouble finds her or is it that she finds trouble. After landing a supporting role on a ‘tastefully sensual’ fantasy film, which will be set on a tropical island, she’s mixed into a new environment, colorful cast of characters, a murder and a massive storm.

Bettie Page has always been a huge idol for me. Not just for her iconic style, but the way she brought such a sense of joy and delight to her performances and sensuality,” said Pacheco. “We’re taking her amazing spirit and imagining a timeline where she was finally given the chance to reach her full potential as a star – even though it’s far from smooth sailing! We’ve got twists, turns, secrets and lies – the whole shebang! Plus, we have Vincenzo, Rebecca and Becca all coming together to create a drop-dead gorgeous, colorful dream of a book! It’s brassy, bold, fun and I think it’s going to be a really exciting adventure for both readers and ‘our’ Bettie.”

The series will launch with six-different variant covers, including a cosplay cover (Riki Le Cotey) and two-different covers featuring the original, real-life titular character, herself, Bettie Mae Page.

Bettie Page #1 is expected to drop at some point in June of 2020.
