May 23, 2020 Off By Michael Stagno

The fan-favorite and bestselling Capcom video game franchise, Mega Man, is getting the comic book treatment, courtesy of Boom! Studios and creators, A.J. Marchisello and Marcus Rinehart, along with artist Stefano Simeone in, Mega Man: Fully Charged.

The six-issue book run will be based on the animated television series, Mega Man: Fully Charged, which centers on Aki Light, who becomes Mega Man to take on other Robot Masters, which both Marchisello and Rinehart serve as scribes on. The story will find Mega Man‘s father, Dr. Light, having been abducted by the Robot Masters, who are all privy to a secret about his history. As he tries to dig deeper for answers, Dr. Wily and his mechanical creations begin to stir up memories of the human vs. robot war and he starts to question everything.

“I can’t believe I’m working on something that I grew up with and enjoyed so much when I was a kid,” Simeone stated. “I’m very happy to be working on a new Mega Man comic book, and I can’t wait to share my enthusiasm and excitement on the pages of this series with readers and fans everywhere!”

Mega Man: Fully Charged #1 (of 6) is currently slated for release in August of 2020.
