Go! Go! Godzilla vs MMPR Sequel
February 19, 2024Any way you look at it 2024 is quickly becoming the Year of Godzilla, And we are all here for it! IDW Publishing is bringing us Godzilla vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers II.
Not only is Godzilla: Minus One nominated for an Oscar, we have Godzilla x Kong: New Empire coming later this summer, and right behind that is the new comic sequel series. The King of Monsters first crossed over with the Rangers back in 2022 written by celebrated comic book writer Cullen Bunn, who you may be familiar with through books like Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man: Season One, and so many more! A little bit of background for those unfamiliar with the original story, Rita Repulsa was sick of constantly getting beaten by the Rangers so using her dark magic, she sought out a new universe to conquer. And what does she find? You guessed it!
The first crossover series can only be described as an electric, nonstop thrill ride of action and adventure. Each page is full of the most beautiful artwork by Freddie E. Williams II of Kaiju fighting Megazords! It flawlessly incorporated the best elements from each franchise into one epic blockbuster.
I don’t know about you all but I am adding this series to my pull list immediately! Be on the lookout for the first issue dropping April 3rd, 2024.
