Cassidy Freeman and Will Patton Both Board Fifth THE PURGE Sequel

Two more stars have been brought in for the final installment in The Purge franchise, via Cassidy Freeman and Will Patton, while a director has also been tabbed in Everardo Gout, as well.

Neither actor’s roles were divulged, while much is still under wraps for the upcoming sequel. It is rumored to be moving away from the franchise’s traditional metropolitan setting and into a more rural atmosphere. It will, however, still center on an American political system that features an annual holiday where all crime, including murder, is legal, for 12 hours.

There are two certainties, however. Expect plenty of gore and explosions as both Jason Blum and Michael Bay will be serving as producers for the film.

Freeman currently stars as Amber Gemstone on the HBO series, The Righteous Gemstones, and was a staple for five years on Longmire.

Patton reprised his role as Officer Hawkins in the Halloween sequel this year and currently serves as Avery Sunderland on DC Universe‘s Swamp Thing. He also just wrapped on four projects, Hammer, Minari, You Can’t Win and Shookum Hills.

The Purge 5 (working title) is on pace to release in theaters on July 10, 2020.
