The John Wick universe will continue to expand as Keanu Reeves is signed on to continue the character in both John Wick: Chapter 4 and John Wick: Chapter 5, which will shoot in consecutive installments, beginning in 2021.

The Wick franchise launched in 2014 with John Wick, when the ex-hitman came out of retirement to take down gangsters who took everything from him. The next two films in the series, John Wick: Chapter 2 and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, connect a series of misadventures for the contract killer as his deeds continue to get him into even more trouble.

The first three films have already garnered over $579 million at the worldwide box office, while Lionsgate already has plans to further expand the Wick universe with spinoffs, for both television and the silver screen, comic books, action figures and it is even rumored a video game is en route.

Reeves will next appear in Bill & Ted Face the Music, which drops in select theaters on Aug. 28, 2020, while also serving as the face to the upcoming video game, Cyberpunk 2077, which launches in November. He’s currently filming on The Matrix 4 and has a few other film credits upcoming as well. As if the star’s workload wasn’t enough, he’s also co-writing a forthcoming comic book, which is due in October called, BRZRKR.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is currently slated to arrive in theaters on May 27, 2022, followed by John Wick: Chapter 5, presumably in early-2023.
