Just under two months after announcing an early second-season renewal, the upcoming The Lord of the Rings series, per Amazon Prime Video, has unveiled its main cast.

The series will be set in Middle Earth, during the 3,441-year period, also known as the Age of Númenor or, the ‘Second Age‘, and will explore new stories which will precede J.R.R. Tolkien‘s first novel, The Fellowship of the Ring.

The cast will include: Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers and Daniel Weyman.

Amazon Co-Head of Television, Vernon Sanders, noted at the recent Television Critics Association press event (TCA) that there are still ‘key roles’ that have yet to be cast, as well as there are prominent actors playing in said key roles that the platform can’t divulge yet, so stay tuned!

The Lord of the Rings is currently filming and is currently expected to launch as a Prime Video exclusive series in early 2021.
