FX’s “What We Do in the Shadows” will conclude with its sixth season.

Premiering in 2019, the show, created by Jemaine Clement based on his and Taika Waititi’s 2014 film of the same name, adopts a mockumentary format, chronicling the nightly escapades of vampire roommates Nandor (Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch) as they navigate modern Staten Island. They are aided by their human familiar, Guillermo (Harvey Guillén), and their vampire bureaucrat acquaintance, the Guide (Kristen Schaal).

Season 5, which wrapped up in August, delves into Nandor’s concern over Guillermo’s growing bond with Laszlo. Meanwhile, Laszlo’s expertise as a gentleman scientist is tested as he investigates Guillermo’s mysterious and secretive transformations.

Executive producers of “What We Do in the Shadows” include Clement, Waititi, showrunner Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush. The series is produced by FX Productions.

Since its debut, the show has received 21 Emmy nominations, clinching the Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes award in 2022. This year, it was honored with the Best Comedy Series title at the GLAAD Media Awards.
